Scheduled for January 20, 2024, The 19th Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk – “Footsteps of sharing,” is set to take place at The Crescent, Phu My Hung, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. Marking the 9th consecutive year, Vietnam Taxi Company (Vinataxi), a proud member of Bamboo Capital Group, remains steadfast in its effort to join the walk, offering support to families facing challenges as they embrace a warmer spring.
This annual community event, held at the onset of the new year, serves as both a fitness encouragement and a fundraising initiative to aid the underprivileged during Tet. For its 19th iteration this year, the Organizers have set a goal of raising an estimated VND 3.4 billion to ensure a warm spring for those in need.
Over the course of 18 years, The Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk has garnered the participation of more than 225,000 individuals and numerous reputable businesses, successfully raising over VND 44 billion. These contributions have been channeled to the “For the Poor” Funds under the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of District 7, District 8, Nha Be County, and Binh Chanh County. The funds are utilized to assist the less fortunate through activities such as Tet gift distributions, construction of charity houses, repair of weatherproof residences, educational support, livelihood assistance, and more. Additionally, the program extends its support to the “Chung mot tam long” Fund of HCMC Television Station and the “Supporting Fund for Sports Talents” under the HCMC Department of Culture and Sports.
