Phu My Hung Corporation and Lawrence S. Ting Foundation grant scholarships worth nearly VND 8 billion

Phu My Hung Corporation and Lawrence S. Ting Foundation have together contributed nearly VND 8 billion in direct and indirect scholarships to students who have exhibited resilience in overcoming obstacles and excelled in their academic pursuits.

On the morning of September 23, 2023, Phu My Hung Corporation and Lawrence S. Ting Foundation hosted the 21st Lawrence S. Ting Scholarship Awards and Donation Presentation of 2023 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.

During the ceremony, Phu My Hung Corporation and Lawrence S. Ting Foundation granted a total of 190 direct scholarships, valued at over VND 2.2 billion, to students who had demonstrated resilience in overcoming challenges, excelled in their academic pursuits, and actively engaged in community activities.

Each Lawrence S. Ting scholarship presented to university students carries an annual value of VND 14 million per year, while high school students receive scholarships worth VND 6.3 million per year.

In addition to the direct scholarships, Phu My Hung Corporation and Lawrence S. Ting Foundation also bestowed indirect scholarships, totaling more than VND 5.7 billion, to charitable organizations and study encouragement associations across all 63 provinces nationwide. These funds were allocated to aid students facing challenging circumstances, as well as orphans and individuals with disabilities.

At the ceremony, Mr. Albert Ting, a Member of Lawrence S. Ting Foundation’s Management Board, expressed his aspirations: “I trust that the Lawrence S. Ting scholarships will empower students throughout their journey of overcoming adversity. As you achieve success in the future, my hope is that you will transform into ‘seeds of charity,’ nurturing and spreading the spirit of community support.”

Furthermore, during the ceremony, Lawrence S. Ting Foundation received generous contributions from individuals, organizations, and businesses, totaling an impressive sum of over VND 13 billion.

Mr. Phan Chanh Duong, Director of Lawrence S. Ting Foundation, remarked, “Beyond the Lawrence S. Ting scholarships, we are committed to advancing educational programs and initiatives. In the near future, our focus will be on the ‘Better Angels’ project, dedicated to enhancing the educational conditions for children with disabilities in Vietnam”.
