At the 24th Lawrence S. Ting Scholarship Awards and Donation Presentation of 2026, held on the morning of October 24, 2026, Phu My Hung Corporation and the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation awarded a total of VND 11.4 billion in scholarships and educational support to outstanding university students and charitable and study encouragement associations across Vietnam.
At the ceremony, 160 Lawrence S. Ting Scholarships were awarded directly to students from 12 universities nationwide. The recipients were selected for their outstanding academic performance, strong potential, leadership qualities, and active involvement in community activities. The total value of these scholarships amounted to VND 6.4 billion.
Since 2025, the Lawrence S. Ting Scholarship program has shifted from providing a fixed amount of financial assistance to covering full tuition fees for one academic year. This approach better reflects students’ actual educational expenses, helping ease their financial burden while creating greater opportunities for them to develop their potential and make meaningful contributions to society.
In addition to the direct scholarships, Phu My Hung Corporation, through the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation, provided VND 5 billion in funding to charitable funds, organizations, and study encouragement associations nationwide, as well as the Funds for the Poor and local study encouragement associations in several wards and communes in the southern part of the city.
These organizations will, on behalf of the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation and Phu My Hung Corporation, select and award scholarships to disadvantaged students in their respective localities, including children with disabilities, orphans, students from ethnic minority communities, and others facing financial hardship. This support aims to help these students overcome challenges, continue their education, and pursue a brighter future.
Over the past 21 years, the Lawrence S. Ting Scholarship program has awarded more than 126,000 scholarships, making significant contributions to the advancement of education in Vietnam. This remarkable achievement reflects the continued commitment and collective efforts of numerous organizations, businesses, and benefactors whose generous support has helped nurture talent, expand educational opportunities, and create lasting value for the community.
