To create a healthy and meaningful space for children and families to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, Phu My Hung Corporation will organize the Phu My Hung Mid-Autumn Festival 2026. The event is part of Phu My Hung’s ongoing community activities, aiming to celebrate traditional cultural values, provide creative experiences for children, encourage family bonding, and strengthen community connections.
The festival will be held from 14:00 to 21:00 on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at P2 Park (Tran Van Tra Street, Phu My Hung, Tan Hung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City), featuring a wide range of fun and meaningful activities.
Traditional Mid-Autumn Highlights
The festival will recreate the festive atmosphere of a traditional Full Moon Night, with key activities including the Moon Feast and Lantern Parade. Following lively performances featuring Sister Hang and Uncle Cuoi on stage, children will join the Moon Feast before taking part in the lantern parade. Accompanied by the rhythmic beats of lion dance drums and the glow of colorful lanterns, the parade will make its way through the festival grounds, creating memorable moments and experiences for all participants.
Two Art Competitions: Lantern Making & Mid-Autumn Painting
To inspire creativity and help preserve traditional cultural values, the Organizer will host two art competitions:
Traditional Lantern Making Contest: Open to children aged 5–12, in teams of 2–4. Within 60 minutes, teams will create and decorate star-shaped lanterns using materials provided by the Organizer, including bamboo frames, colored cellophane, and other materials. Each team will then have 2 minutes to present its idea and message. The total prize value is over VND 8 million, along with gifts and certificates. Participation is limited to 30 teams, and registration will close once all spots are filled. Mid-Autumn Painting Contest (in collaboration with Global Art Vietnam): Open to children aged 5–15 under the theme “Moonlight of Creativity”. The contest encourages children to express their creativity, imagination, and personal feelings about the Mid-Autumn Festival through their artwork. Contestants will create their artwork on-site at the event. Registration is available via https://forms.gle/cQSAnP7DWEw7js2F9 or through website: globalart.vn.
Folk Games & Hands-on Activities
Children will enjoy a variety of traditional folk games, including tug-of-war, sack races, ô ăn quan (Vietnamese mancala), carrying rice across a bridge, and blindfolded can-smashing. Hands-on workshops will also be available, including clay figurine (tò he) making, lantern crafting, and DIY jewelry design, giving children opportunities to play, learn, and appreciate Vietnam’s cultural heritage. A special highlight will be a guided workshop on making traditional star-shaped lanterns.
Free Entry & Thousands of Gifts
The festival is free and open to all, with approximately 2,000 gifts prepared for children, including lanterns, sweets, stuffed animals, toys, backpacks, and more. Children can collect Game Completion Cards by participating in different activities. Those who collect five cards of different colors will be eligible to enter a lucky draw and have a chance to receive gifts.
