On August 9, 2025, the Phu My Hung City Center (Tan Hung Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) will host two highlight events with a shared environmental mission: The 8th Phu My Hung Green Living Day and the artistic music show Rejoice and Refuse. These events offer the community an opportunity to promote green lifestyles, raise awareness for nature conservation, and encourage practical actions toward a healthier and more sustainable living environment.
From 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Crescent Lake Park, the Green Living Day 2025 will provide an immersive, nature-connected experience through meaningful activities, including: exhibitions of recycled products, planting demonstrations and green model displays, exchange stations where participants can trade used batteries, electronics, paper, plastics, and old books for gifts. These activities aim to encourage proper waste sorting and resource reuse within the community.
Especially for children and families, the festival will feature interactive zones such as: toy-making workshops using recycled materials, STEM-based waste-sorting activities, a play area with balance bikes made from recycled plastics, plant pot decorating sessions. These creative spaces are designed to help children understand eco-friendly concepts in a fun and engaging way.
Two exciting contests for children will also be held:
– Online Contest: “I Love the Environment”
+ Open to children aged 5–12, this contest encourages the creation of recycled art shared via video, accompanied by eco-themed messages. The total prize pool is nearly 15 million VND, along with additional sponsor gifts. More details are available on the Phu My Hung Today Fanpage.
– On-site Drawing Contest: “Paint the Green World”
+ Organized by the Global Art Center, this contest invites children to express their love for nature and environmental protection through art. Winners will receive prizes and special gifts. More information can be found on the Global Art Creative Vietnam page.
To close the day, the Rejoice and Refuse music show will begin at 7:00 PM at Crescent Lake Park. This artistic performance delivers an environmental narrative told in four thematic chapters: Homeland Affection, Scattered and Gathered; Rejoice and Refuse, The Colorful Environment.
Featuring music by renowned composers such as Trinh Cong Son, Van Cao, and Pham Duy, along with international songs adapted into Vietnamese, the concert aims to inspire reflection, nostalgia, and positive action.
A distinctive feature of the performance is its creative use of music, lighting, and recycled materials – where discarded items take center stage in a story of transformation and renewal. Rejoice and Refuse has previously left its mark in Hanoi, Hue, Binh Duong, and Ho Chi Minh City, and now returns to Phu My Hung to continue spreading its message of sustainable living.
All activities at The 8th Phu My Hung Green Living Day 2025 and the Rejoice and Refuse music show are open to the public and completely free of charge.
