Suspect Identified for Grass Fire Thanks to Security Camera System

On April 7, 2025, Phu My Hung security staff discovered a grass fire beneath Phu Thuan Bridge (Tan Phu Ward, District 7). Security personnel immediately mobilized forces to extinguish the fire and alerted the Tan Phu Ward Police.

At the scene, staff from Dai Phu My Greenery Services used a nearby park irrigation hose to help control the flames. About 10 minutes later, a specialized water truck arrived and fully extinguished the fire. The incident caused no property damage, with the burned area estimated at approximately 40 square meters.

Footage retrieved from the security camera system showed that at around 1:00 PM on the same day, a man riding a black Wave motorbike with license plate 66L1… was recorded near the underside of the bridge shortly before the fire broke out.

By noon on April 9, 2025, the same motorbike was detected again at the entrance of Phu Thuan Bridge. Phu My Hung security quickly detained the suspect as he was about to leave the area and reported the case to Tan Phu Ward Police for further investigation.

At the police station, the suspect identified himself as N.V.K., born in 1967, currently residing in Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park and working as a lottery ticket seller. K. admitted to burning dry grass and leaves under Phu Thuan Bridge on April 7, stating that he “saw a large amount of dry leaves and decided to burn them”. He also pledged not to repeat the act.
