At the 24th Lawrence S. Ting Scholarship Awards and Donation Presentation of 2026 held last weekend, Phu My Hung Corporation and the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation awarded a total of VND 11.4 billion in scholarships and financial support to outstanding students and charitable and study ecouragement associations across Vietnam.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The VND 11.4 billion allocated for the 2026 Lawrence S. Ting Scholarship program comprises direct scholarships and indirect educational support. This year, the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation awarded 160 direct scholarships totaling VND 6.4 billion to students with outstanding academic records, strong potential, leadership qualities, and active community involvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recipients were selected from 12 leading universities across the country, including Vietnam National University, Hanoi; University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City; University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City; Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology; Hanoi Law University; and Da Nang University of Science and Technology, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2025, the Lawrence S. Ting Scholarship has transitioned from providing a fixed financial award to covering full tuition fees for one academic year. This approach aligns scholarship support more closely with actual education costs, helping students realize their potential and make meaningful contributions to society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Albert Ting, a member of the Management Board of the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation, shared: \u201cWe believe that education empowers individuals to shape their own futures and make positive contributions to society. Investing in education means investing in human potential and creating sustainable value for future generations\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guided by this belief, Mr. Albert Ting presented the \u201cLight of Knowledge\u201d symbol to representatives of the scholarship recipients at the ceremony, expressing his hopes for the younger generation to make meaningful contributions to their communities and society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For indirect scholarships, Phu My Hung Corporation, through the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation, allocated VND 5 billion to various charitable funds, associations, and study encouragement associations. These included the National Fund for Vietnamese Children; the Vu A Dinh Scholarship Fund; the Ho Chi Minh City Fund for the Poor; the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Support of Poor Patients; the Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans; and study promotion associations in provinces and cities nationwide. The funding also covered funds for the poor in Tan My, Tan Hung, Tan Thuan, Phu Thuan, and Binh Dong wards, as well as Hiep Phuoc Commune in Ho Chi Minh City. Additional recipients included study encouragement associations in Nha Be, Binh Chanh, and Binh Hung communes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These funds, charitable organizations, and study encouragement associations will select and award scholarships, on behalf of the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation and Phu My Hung Corporation, to disadvantaged local students, children with disabilities, orphans, and young people from ethnic minority communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the event, the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation also received contributions from numerous businesses, organizations, and individual benefactors, raising more than VND 17 billion. These funds will support the Foundation’s direct scholarship programs in the coming years. Major contributors included member companies of Phu My Hung Asia Holdings Group, Phu Hung Financial Group, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City, and many other organizations, enterprises, and individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lawrence S. Ting Scholarship is one of the many educational support initiatives implemented by the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation over the years. Over the past 20 years, Phu My Hung Corporation and the Foundation have awarded a total of 126,038 direct and indirect scholarships to disadvantaged students, young people from ethnic minority communities, children with disabilities, orphans, and other beneficiaries. These efforts have helped recipients continue their education, develop their capabilities, and contribute to nurturing talent in Vietnam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recognition of the scholarship program’s sustained contributions to education and talent development, Ms. Truong Thi Hien, Vice Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Study Encouragement Association, presented Certificates of Merit to Phu My Hung Corporation and the Lawrence S. Ting Foundation at the ceremony, honoring their positive contributions to educational advancement and talent development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
