At 7:46 PM on July 14, 2026, a pedestrian was the victim of a property snatching incident on Pham Thai Buong Street, in the Nam Thien 1 Complex of Phu My Hung City Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Phu My Hung’s surveillance camera system, two foreign nationals were walking along Pham Thai Buong Street when a suspect riding a motorcycle in the same direction suddenly approached, snatched a handbag from one of them, and fled toward Nguyen Van Linh Parkway. The victim reported that the bag contained approximately VND 12 million in cash, a mobile phone, and personal documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Immediately after receiving information from Tan Hung Ward Police, Phu My Hung Security urgently reviewed surveillance footage and quickly identified the motorcycle’s license plate, the suspect’s physical characteristics, and the escape route. This information was promptly provided to the police to support their investigation. At the same time, the motorcycle’s license plate was added to the security alert system at checkpoint gates to facilitate detection and coordinated action should the suspect re-enter the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based on the information provided by Phu My Hung Security, police arrested the suspect at 11:30 PM the same day. According to police sources, the suspect, identified as T.M.T. (born in 1995), has two previous convictions for theft. The case remains under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following this incident, residents are advised to remain vigilant while walking, particularly at night. Recommended safety precautions include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wear handbags on the side away from the roadway.
Avoid walking close to the curb or roadway.
Refrain from using your mobile phone while walking.
